Gracie was our
first Finnish Lapphund and the 12th lappie in
Canada, because of her our
lives have changed with more Finnish Lapphunds
and many new friends around the world. Thank you
to Linda Marden for Gracie and all the guidance
along the way she continues to be my mentor and
friend.
In September 2004, Gracie became a UKC
CHAMPION! On July 6, 2007 Gracie made history by
becoming the first Finnish Lapphund at a
Canadian Kennel Club show to receive Best of
Breed! Then one year to the day Gracie became a
new CKC Champion Jul 4, 2008 at Portage La
Prairie Kennel club and even had a litter in
between. Thank you Michelle Rogowski who showed
her for her first points and her last needed
point.
Gracie is a very special FL in Canada. She is
well constructed with a beautiful head and
expression, balanced proportions and friendly
Lappie temperament. Her pedigree includes Kello
Reijo who is a proven sire with many outstanding
litters in Europe. Gracie’s
first litter was born Dec 18, 2006
she surprised us with 8 puppies and she
was a great mom .
Gracie’s
second litter of 6 surprised us with two
domino patterned boys. One just had to stay at
Shadagrace (Teemu).
She passed the CKC Herding Instinct Test Sep
09 and got the first leg to a CKC Herding title. In
Sep 2010 she got her 2nd leg and is the first
lappie to get a working herding title.
She certainly can move when she sees sheep.
Gracie was to be spayed but surprised us and
came into season unexpectedly. We thought
it was meant to be when we found out Bruce (GrCh
Sugarok Born in the USA) was in town at the
right time. Her 3rd litter gave us 6
beautiful pups. One girl just had to stay,
Fergie.
Gracie is now retired and is the "fun police"
in the yard. She is always watching over
the dogs.
**** July 2014, Gracie went back in the ring
thinking we go for Veterans and also got Best of
Opposite under Finnish judge Marja Talvitie.
The same day she worked hard and got her CGN
title *** Never too old :)
